 DAVE ADAMS PROFILE

Dave Adams has had over 32 years in the music business as a singer-songriter, record producer and keyboardist/guitarist. His career started off in the mid 70’s when he joined up with a locally popular club band Glass Moon.

Glass Moon started out as a Progressive Rock band. By 1979 they were in Electric Lady Studios in New York recording their first album for a major label and leaning toward a more melodic synth Pop sound. Their remake of the Peter Gabriel song Solisbury Hill was an FM hit and had the rare charm of possibly being better than the original. They were such a hit in Puerto Rico that they were commissioned to perform and write a song for a 7-Up commercial - all in Spanish! Their second album, "Growing In The Dark" had another remake, the 1967 Hollies hit, On A Carousel. In this case, Glass Moon improved the tune to the point were the Hollies began performing the Glass Moon version. On A Carousel played on HBO's Video Jukebox throughout the summer of 1982, helping to promote sales of the album and single.

The third Glassmoon album was recorded in Bath, UK with famed Peter Gabriel producer David Lord and was released in 1984 on MCA records. Dave wrote all the songs and co-produced this album called "Sympathetic Vibration".

By 1986 Dave had secured a solo record deal with Elektra Records and recorded a solo album, "Dancing In My Sleep" in London.

Retrospectively, there seems to be much respect for the Glass Moon albums as well as the solo album Adams made. Undiscovered pop gems and what some critics have described as a perfect radio voice are some of the reasons fans of these records encourage consumers to buy two or three copies in case one gets worn out, not such a preposterous suggestion in the days when used record piles would yield the original vinyl at $2.98 per.

In 1993 Dave returned to the US after living in London and joined the staff of Rednote Audio in Raleigh as a composer of original music for film, TV, radio and more recently, computer games.

Dave has also had success as a producer and engineer for other artists, including "Darker Days", the 1985 release by The Connells.

Dave currently plays local club gigs with his 80’s cover band "Suicide Blonde" and will be doing keyboard and voice lessons, songwriting workshops and recording / production workshops in the near future with 2112 Rock School.
